The Doug's Place WebSite does not collect information about Visitors and does not use cookies, web beacons, or any other technology to track Visitors and their personal page viewing habits.

Although a cookie is used to store User Account Preferences, Doug's Place does not use cookies, web beacons, or any other technology to track Users and their personal page viewing habits. This cookie is stored on your PC's hard drive, and is not used to track your movement or perform any function other than to enhance your use of the WebSite. If your browser does not support cookies, or you have not enabled cookies on your browser, you will not be able to log in.

Registration

In order to obtain a User Account on the Doug's Place WebSite, a valid email address is required in order that we may send you a password. A valid e-mail address is required to confirm a User's identity, and a system-generated login password is sent to this e-mail address. The e-mail address is also used by administrators and moderators to send messages to Users.

The User name and system-generated password are used to login to the WebSite in order to view Registered User-only Content, Submit News or Product Reviews, post comments or messages in The Forum, or edit profile information. The user may change their system-generated password by editing their Your Account page.

A User's e-mail address and profile information may be viewed by WebSite Visitors by clicking on the User Name in the Members List, submitted News or comments, or in Forum postings. Personal Information entered by you in the Your Account/Your Info section is voluntary, and should only be that with which you feel comfortable being displayed to other Users or Visitors.

A User may opt to display their real e-mail address, or a spam-proof version, or neither. Users can make these changes by editing their Your Account/Your Info page.

Doug's Place Newsletter

The Newsletter is a free monthly e-mail newsletter that keeps people informed about new content and features on the WebSite. Newsletter subscribers are also eligible for free contest drawings that are held periodically.

The Doug's Place WebSite respects your privacy and does not sell, trade, or give away e-mail addresses from the list to other parties. Your e-mail address is not accessible to others on the WebSite, unless you choose to divulge it.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to the Newsletter, go to Your Account, and change your Receive Newsletter by Email preference.

The Forum

The Doug's Place WebSite features a bulletin board known as The Forum, which is a interactive discussion service in which people can share information various topics of interest.

The Forum is not a commercial website or online service directed to children under 13 years of age. Children under 13 may not post to The Forum bulletin board.

Remember that any information disclosed on the bulletin board becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

In order to discourage libelous, slanderous, defamatory, or profane language on The Forum bulletin board, when a message is posted, the poster's IP address and the date and time of the posting associated with the message is recorded in our database. Such language is not allowed in the Forum, nor in any comments or submissions to the WebSite, and will be edited or deleted as the Administrator sees fit. Repeated occurrences will result in loss of privileges or deletion of the user's account.
